Code of Conduct

1. Only competent translators shall prepare translations for member companies of the Association. Member companies shall accept only those translation orders that they are able to prepare in a professional manner.

2. Member companies shall ensure that their employees, subcontractors, consultants, representatives and any other persons related to the performance of orders shall keep confidential any privileged information about existing or former clients and any information contained in translations regarding third persons that has become known to them in the course of providing services. Member companies shall ensure that their employees, subcontractors, consultants, representatives and any other persons related to the performance of orders shall not use such information in any manner or for any purpose not directly related to providing the service, except for information that is publicly available or which is to be disclosed in accordance with the law.

3. Member companies shall keep confidential any privileged information regarding existing or former members of the Association that has become known to them in the course of their membership in the Association, and shall not use such information in any manner or for any purpose that could harm the interests of other members of the Association.

4. Member companies shall not unjustifiably criticise the work of other members and shall not actively solicit or take over other members' clients.

5. Members of the Association shall act in accordance with good practice and maintain an impartial attitude in their relations with existing and former clients, other members of the Association, other translation companies and the public.

6. Members of the Association shall not use misleading advertisements or false information in their promotional materials.

7. Members of the Association shall not engage in any activities that harm the reputation and interests of the Association of Translation Companies.
